What did the business involvement look like? Any expanded dining areas or anything like that?

It sounds like the chamber was eager to do this because sundays are slow for the businesses. And the city had no meters to pay because it’s Sunday. My friend Cyrus shot a documentary during this, and interviewed owners who said today was amazing for them No expanded dining, yet
IMO, this concept would be an absolute hit in Lincoln square when construction wraps
If parking isn’t a problem we should do it every Sunday… and or meter Sundays everywhere else and expand it to Saturdays
I think that is a very realistic goal for spring-fall. It’s in the self interest of the businesses to demand more of this
Yeah let’s get it started then and that sets the groundwork.
I was hoping to stop by but Lao Peng You had me turn at Chicago Ave so I missed it. Dumplings were fire tho.
You gotta go next time! I ran into @chap.bsky.social and ended up getting lunch at Antique Taco, after running into like six people, and before running into six more people 😂
Chicago is reaching levels of car-free that we’ve wanted badly for a long time. Today has been the best day I’ve had in a while. Imagine if your local high street was like this every weekend
I think I saw half of Chicago Bluesky today
At least 20 of us 😅
I feel like the downside to day only events is a lack of outdoor seating 😢
I had to use my car to go to the grocery stores in Chicago this morning to stock up and it was beautiful not to be confronted by so many cars.
I love this!
Oh, they so need to make this permanent!
