Never happen, John. As the prior commenter noted, there’s too much money in AI to allow millions of authors to (correctly) press for compensation. Breaking up the class will mean each case will drag on forever and die. Only legislation can change things for authors and that’s not on Trumps agenda
Compensation is not so important as cessation. AI is not profitable yet, far as I know. Authors, screenwriters, illustrators--I doubt most of us expect any help from the courts. We're just creative people. Fringe people. Do we do useful things like buy hospitals and strangle healthcare doing it?
