The point of the novel is that the monster is angry with Dr Frankenstein for having created him, a perfectly reasonable reaction.

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Was an amazing person. Also, in my book, she invented science fiction. The Stress of Her Regard by Tim Powers is a terrific sort of fictionalized take on her life.
