I love Mark Knopfler's solo work.... fav album is probably Get Lucky. And also his collab with Emmylou!!
Tom Verlaine - self titled solo debut. If it was a Television album it would be regarded as a classic.

Lou Reed - New York
I love The Chemical Wedding by Bruce Dickinson as much as any Iron Maiden Album. Transformer by Lou Reed is another favourite.
Allan Clarke's latest, many years after leaving The Hollies. 78 and still going strong.
I’m a big Hollies fan but I was not aware of this album. I’m definitely going to check it out. Thanks
A good solo album should be a different genre and direction than the music the group usually makes. Too many artists fail at this and just produce something which at the end of the day sounds too much like the group they were in. 1/2
Sharen den Adel, Simone Simmons and Liv Kristine produced solo albums as members of a group that were different enough than the group's style.
Far too many...!!! 2 off the top of my head :- Garcia- Garcia after the goldrush - young
George Michael - Older
Face Value..Phil Collins

Will drop this one into Spotify 👌
If you dig his delivery style it will be like a greatest hits comp. He tweaked his style a bit from Wall of Voodoo and went fully cinematic with this one, enjoy! 🖖
