There is no excuse for these stores to buy imported when there are local farmers with excellent product available! Let it rot … but unfortunately they get a tax write off for their incompetence. Maybe that’s part of the problem??

Maybe they buy imported because canadian farmers abuse “buy canada” and are more expensive? Competition is good for my pocket.

It is so short sighted to think that you are getting ahead by saving a few pennies on some American produce, perhaps you should live in the States where you can be assaulted and detained by government thugs for no reason or go bankrupt for getting cancer.

Sure ….. you have been indoctrinated with the idea that life does not exists beyond Rogers / Bell, Air Canada/ Westjet, Weston/Walmart and other monopolies …. You use cheap labour in the farms. No reason to be more expensive. If it is, don’t make it. Make something can compete.

They all compete in their industries within the country they exist. An “illegal alien” picking strawberries in California isn’t paid close to a seasonal worker picking them in Ontario, Canada. I prefer not to further exploit these workers in the US so I can save 50 cents.

Went to LCBO to get a bottle of Canadian wine. It was 29-32$ a few months ago. 37$ now. Affected by tariffs? Just take advantage of “buy Canadian”.

Since Canadians are paid more it makes sense it would cost more. I prefer local where my sale has a ripple effect in the local economy. A deal from the US isn’t a deal I am interested in. If not local then Mexico or another ally, no problem.
