I’ll say it again: I’m vocal on trans rights because 1) I’m a decent person, 2) I have a trans niece whose happiness has skyrocketed since coming out, and 3) all these arguments were used against gays and lesbians in the 80s. And Black people in the 60s. And Jewish people in the 40s…

I think I know more trans than cis people by now, and they're all so much happier now they're living in truth. And a few centuries ago women who dared to have opinions were similarly vilified. It's all witch burning

Exactly. I am vocal too, and for all the same reasons. Although, in my case, I have a trans daughter and many trans students. I am their ally.

I think I should thank you, for making my world wider, and for accepting me as an ally in a world where many allies have proved completely useless.
That makes me feel very happy and warm inside. I didn’t ask to be this way but at 61 I’m happy that I am and so much the wiser for it.
