Says the Cypriot. Try having Scandinavian genes when England sees grey skies and, no matter the actual temperature, cranks up the heating to Rome in August.

I can categorically say that only people with type 2 diabetes-induced venous insufficiency and hypothyroidism have their heating on in August in the UK.
Yeah, tbf, I actually mostly encounter Brits horrified at the thought of putting it on before November.
Here in the southeast in a reasonably insulated house I barely need it on at all at any point in the year. Only maybe for a few weeks in January or if there's a notably cold spell between November and March would I actually appreciate it being on for a couple of hours in the morning.
But then I'm also young, have a fast metabolism, am fairly sensitive to heat and I can't stand central heating so I may not be an "average" inhabitant of the southeast
I'm tropical and hypothyroidal and do not have the heating on. I'm still at the "occasional blanket" stage, wearing flip flops as long as I possibly can
Good on ya
Lol! I think maybe Brits just can't handle anything outside of 12-18°C.
Apart from, somehow, all those guys still wearing just a t-shirt in January.
I’m one of those guys. The British have perfected a system where you’ll sweat on public transport the entire year round.
