I do have to say the movie does one particular thing that infuriates me: convenient movie Alzheimer’s. I had a grandmother with dementia. Whenever it’s a plot device or used to gently make us melancholy, it’s a slap in the face of anyone who’s ever dealt or dealing with it.

Yes. Having cared for two parents with dementia, I can tell you that it is often mean. Often self-centred. Often irrational. Always draining. Very seldom nostalgic or compassionate.

I loved the books. It's a series by Richard Osman. I'm waiting for the next one with anticipation. I believe the books - when they talk about Stephen's condition - focus more on the relationship between Stephen and Elizabeth?
