This reminds me that I didn't read any Ayn Rand until college. Found Atlas Shrugged lying around, thought it was mostly fine as a book. English teacher suggested I read The Fountainhead because I was an architecture student. I have never hated a book more.

Read about 2/3 of it in college and finally trashed it, as it didn’t seem there would be any divine payoff at the end for all of my suffering.

I read it because my father was an architect. I can see how it would infuriate an architect whose "face south for sunlight" compass interacted with their moral compass.
