I got a comment about this on the other place, so sharing here. Talking to some fans who saw the sellback program, which takes 30% of their tickets back and rolls it into 2027 renewal, is like a yearlong no interest loan for the Orioles. I did ask the Os about that characterization:

And to be clear, some people do like this! If you’re going to renew for 2027 no matter what, there were a handful of Birdland members who told me it was useful for them.

Both things can be true. It been be a useful option for some people while also being a no interest loan to the orioles.
