And probably the most internationally revered of all martial saints. Here's an ancient rock-cut church dedicated to him in that epicenter of Anglo-Saxon racial purity, Ethiopia:

The church of St. George in Lalibela, Ethiopia. A cross-shaped red sandstone church actually cut down into the bedrock. A man in white robes sits on its plinth.

And here, from 1489, is a Swedish version in Storkyrkan (Stockholm Cathedral), celebrating a victory over the Danes in 1471. The sculptor was probably Berndt Notke from Lübeck.

A huge sculpture group in lifelike colours, showing St. George on horseback raising his sword to kill the dragon lying on the ground. The sculpture is in a gothic church, the red-brick pillars and ribbed vaults of which can be seen in the background.

And many Armenian orphaned children were raised in Ethiopia following the Armenian Genocide 100 years ago.

There's at least a decent Wikipedia post on it. It's actually interesting. Supposedly I have relatives there.
