One way that this can be explained is that the laws were made by human beings, and we are VERY fallible.

I like your new look 👀
If you read the 13th amendment, it is still legal as punishment for those "duly convicted." constitution.congress.gov/constitution...
The people hiding Anne Frank were breaking the law. The people that killed Anne Frank were following the law.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has a marvelous scene where a lawyer (played by Yetide Badaki) outlines how being a law doesn’t mean it’s just. Outstanding scene. Ad Astra Per Aspera, s2e2.
The key to #CivilDisobedience is the fact that "something being legal doesn't make it morally right". This should be food for those who #ResistRevoltRestRepeat.
Yep, not by a long shot.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Tbh I don’t have an issue with deportation of people that aren’t here legally or strengthening border protection. But this cocksucker isn’t doing anything with any regard to humanity or law. Putting people in FL concentration camps or shipping them to an El Salvador prison is NOT legal or right!
You have entirely missed the point. Laws are irrelevant - either what is happening is moral, or it isn't. Deporting people for being here "for the wrong reasons" and putting people in concentration camps for being "the wrong kind of people" are morally equivalent acts.
If you think one is morally OK but the other isn't, you need to take a long hard look at your beliefs and figure out where you went wrong.
Well said!
Each of the 3 branches of government was created as a check the others. That doesn’t exist anymore… there is no “check”. Without due process of the law, upheld and required by an independent judiciary we can’t uphold the rights guaranteed within the constitution. Are you Team Cap or Team Iron Man?
Also, what people don’t consider is that we’ve (our Federal Government) signed onto legally-binding (allegedly) international conventions and treaties concerning Human Rights, Slavery, as well as peoples seeking Asylum and Refugee statuses. We have a moral, ethical, and legal duty.
Agree Important point, "it falls on us to do..."
missed you
Love this! Thank You TizzyEnt Not All Laws Are Meant To Be Followed In A World Filled With Guided Missiles And Misguided Men 🫶 History is recording!
Thank you!! This Administration is so cruel and have No morals.
Didn't know you were on here TizzyEnt, glad I found you in my feed.
I will never never understand calling a human being can be illegal. You nailed it. 🦋
💯 Aside from them voting for a felon, it always seems to be the so-called Christians who excuse our inhumane immigration policy by claiming that "illegals" broke the law, and that Jesus told us to follow the law. I wonder what Jesus would have thought about slavery and the Holocaust...
That’s just like saying government is not a business it’s a service for the people … but the GOP don’t give a fuck
the right to do something does not make it the right thing to do.
Amen.
