To the #survivors / #victims of the #Minneapolis shooting; I am so genuinely sorry that you have to join the most dreaded yet quickly growing club in #America... You too are not alone and have my unconditional support. I have also lost friends and family to #gunviolence and #gunsuicide.
I find little comfort in the statistics that I often rattle off to anybody who will listen but the writing is on the wall and has been since #Columbine. I share my birthday (December 14th) with the memorial anniversary of the #SandyHook massacre.
I don't blow out a candle or accept a gift or card without a silent #Prayer for the little ones lost that day. But as we all know, "thoughts and prayers", are cheap and easy and the work ahead is hard and expensive. If we live to see another day, we have to make it count...
because they would have wanted us to. We cannot let them die in vain, and we cannot their lives be ignored after the news of their deaths is deemed irrelevant. #SayTheirNames To ALL: Keep your chin up and know that you are loved and protected. This too shall pass.
