Given the fact Trump did nothing for them in his first term when they had a hurricane hit them, I'd think they pass for the time being until the 🍊🀑 is gone.

From Gemini: The most recent referendum on Puerto Rico's political status took place on **November 5, 2024**, as part of the general election. The results of the referendum were as follows: * **Statehood:** 58.61% * **Free Association:** 29.57% * **Independence:** 11.82% (cont.)

If such a ballot were held here in Canada, 99.99% would vote NO! Not ever to statehood We detest countries run by convicted felons, pedophiles or who have war criminals as BFF.

I have a Canadian teacher friend who told me that the War of 1812 is a 15 minute lesson in American classrooms. It is a week long study in Canadian High Schools. Of course, Canadians know this history and I'd bet some money that our current POTUS does not.

Well... Canada isn't a US territory. Puerto Rico is. While they pay taxes and receive certain benefits from the US, they get no representation And I know full well, no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks would Canada ever resign their sovereignty to be made a territory of the US

... It's important to note that this was the first referendum where the option to remain a U.S. territory was not on the ballot. The results are not binding, and any change in Puerto Rico's status requires action from the U.S. Congress.
