Tangent: Larry Summers thought we'd had enough DEI by 2005 -- I just looked it up -- that we could safely say some part of women being under-represented in math and science was due to innate difference in ability, and the guy is still being listened to with respect on all manner of subjects.

Same! It still gets me riled up whenever I hear his name. I think a lot of people even in the sciences have either forgotten or just dismissed it with time.

I worked at Harvard in the 80’s. One of my assignments was to write an EEOC report on women in physics. I titled it Woman in Physics because we had only one tenured female professor. They knew.

(I actually remember very few things like this. Harvard is so irrelevant to my life. But Larry fucking Summers always makes me mad at our culture.)
