I'm back from the sleep lab. Yep, before 5 a.m. I didn't sleep well at all--dozed a bit, tossed and turned a lot. That doesn't well with a bunch of wires attached to you. I'm sore. Oh my gosh. I'm gonna have coffee and then probably stretch in a little while. I think they got enough data. Phew.

I was tested for sleep apnea. The machine strapped to my head that wouldn’t let me get comfortable and woke me up a billion times says I have sleep apnea because I kept waking up.

The tech didn't come in to have me try a mask, so maybe I'm right about not having sleep apnea. 😄

At a time when I was having terrible insomnia and went to the sleep lab, I had the best sleep ever!

My life became much better after diagnosis and wearing a CPAP. It was easier than all the test wires and I was in my own bed. Nightmares stopped, having to pee during the night stopped. It got even easier when I switched to the nose pillow version.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 15 years ago, was very hopeful about a CPAP mask, and then was never able to adjust to one. Then I lost a bunch of weight and a 2nd study I had showed no apnea. We'll see what this one says!

I struggled my entire life with disordered eating. I always refused surgery but finally asked my medical weight loss doctor about trying one of the drugs. Zepbound was recently approved for severe sleep apnea and Medicare means I can afford it. I hope your recent test comes back in your favor.

I haven't heard of that! Gotta look it up. And thanks! I just started the whole "Do something about my sleep" process with a new doctor and of course we have to establish whether sleep apnea is part of the problem or not. I don't think so, but we'll see where things go.

I did a sleep lab once "what time do you usually fall asleep?" "like 3 or 4" "uh, well, let's try 11" "oh, I'll try" it wasn't quite as bad as I thought, but then they scheduled the follow up to collect results at like 8 am on a Saturday and I never went back

No doubt they will tell you that you have apnea or worse, because you couldn’t sleep well with wires strapped to you, monitors tracking your movements, and getting woken up to leave the lab before 5am. I wish you a much better night tonight.
