Parties change. Happens all the time. Reps have radically changed twice in my lifetime. Dems are overdue.

American politics, both left and right, tends to be reactionary to the moment.

Dems play in the parameters Republicans set for them & don’t seem to care to move beyond them. They just say bullshit like “we need Joe Rogan of the left” or “we will actually build the wall too” or “we shouldn’t support transgenders beyond the bare minimum we already do”. So literally reactionary

Although the severe right, not interested in equilibriums, seems to have been planning for decades for a time to swoop in and devour like vultures. Donald Trump was brought down the chimney by the severe right Santa Claus after entities like Rush and Fox set out cookies and milk for said Mr. Claus.

And they're not there to do any actual favors to the knuckle dragger set, but to use them perhaps only once as an airplane key for the wildest ride they can devise.

New souls are needed. It is a matter of having been acculturated to horse trading with a GOP that is now dealing in rabid zebras.
