Seems like Ireland might be able to use something like fixer-uppers for humanity funded in substantial part by philanthropy. In fact why not the USA, too.

Luckily we are a rich country with have billions in tax surplus so don't need to rely on philanthropy But nothing stopping the weathly doing up derelict properties. #DerelictIreland #speirgorm

In fact maybe each (and more) could be friendlier to immigration when the immigrants want to fix-up and live in such properties.
