i relate to a lot of this bc there's so much about the way we talk about disability thats stuck in the 90s in the BAD way.. not to mention people trying to re enable the R slur. my heart hates 'special needs/education' but my brain knows those terms are so deep in culture idk what to do.

Oh totally. I definitely grew up with the "special needs" and "special ed" terms in school. Now at my big age they don't sound right, but we were never taught what to replace them with, and it's so deep you don't know if folks will get what you're referring to with any updated terminology 🫠
