I had the same question. My guess is that the pay gap would be reversed in favor of women.
And who ran on equal pay, that was then blocked by democrats? Pelosi and Schumer told Obama they could never pass equal pay because they would lose the House and Senate. Then lost the House and Senate after riding Obama's coattails to the biggest majorities in history.

In 1978, I became an assistant manager of a local DQ. I was salaried at $600/month. The men, I found out, were making $1300. I asked the district manager about making the same as the men and was told that they had families to support. I pointed out I was a single Mom and was told to find a husband.

In the ‘70s, management didn’t mind saying this out loud. I was working in positions for which I had a college degree and experience. At two different corporations I was told that I was paid less than men doing the same work. Men need more money, they said. It hurt my living then and hurts my SS now
The data is clear that shows pay inequality. I had an argument with a MAGAt who claimed there is no pay inequality in US. That MAGAt is a white male. As a group are they mostly misogynists? Asking someone who belongs to white male group.
Well, the MAGA ones are at least. The gap looks better when you account for job selection etc. but it's objectively a real gap. Having kids is a huge reason for it from all I've seen. The woman is the one who usually sacrifices their job growth for babies/young kids.
Growing up I honestly believed inequality was getting better little by little. I had faith that we'd learned from our past and were moving forward. Boy, was I naive! We can't ever stop fighting for Democracy and Equality or this happens I guess.
