At this point I am convinced they understand the graph correctly and they simply believe that it’s wrong to extend empathy to strangers.

The specific line is 'more than your neighbors', but the opposite was found true in the study, where it was measuring the limit of your empathy, not the power, in fact dems had more empathy as a baseline to their neighbors lol
