Loved going to zoo as a kid. Now, I love seeing the joy on kids’ faces when they see something amazing. The look of wonder and awe makes me happy. There aren’t as many choices for enrichment. If adults don’t like kids at the zoo, come up with options. Don’t whine w/o a solution.
Yeah also 99% sure that a zoo that didn’t allow kids would shut down first week. I’ve gone to the zoo way more as a parent then when I wasn’t a parent and it’s because it’s an outdoor exciting space that’s catered towards kids.
This particular zoo I went to also has 1. A carousel 2. Face-painting stations 3. A gift shop stuffed to the brim with toys and kids clothes So, you know, forgive me for thinking it is a destination meant for families with children!
Our kids are subsidizing their Zoo experience and conservation efforts. Yeah tickets may be cheaper for kids but that’s because I’m buying henna tattoos, (another) stuffed animal, meals for every mealtime I’m there snacks every time, giraffes feeding experiences, train tickets, and so much more.
Our zoo is a community gem with programs that cater to all age groups. How else are children from Toledo going to see a hippo up close and learn about it?
I guess I just need to keep my kids inside and have them watch hippos on their tablet so an adult who doesn’t like kids can go on a day where kids have the day off of school. My bad. Also Phil you’re from Toledo?!?

I have a zoo membership, and I don’t have a family. There are adult things to do at the zoo, but it is mainly for families.
I used to work at Busch gardens and people would complain about teenagers being there all the time and I was like sooo you don’t have a problem that 70% of the workers are teens serving you? There are things for all age groups to do because the interest is in maximizing profits
My in laws love going to the zoo. But they hadn't been in like twenty years until my wife and I moved back with their grandkids. They immediately bought a grandparents membership to the zoo and are there regularly
