People pissed off enough to hand the dems a supermajority in the House absolutely means something. Since that will hand his enemies unlimited subpoena and investigative authority, it could well mean the effective end of his presidency.

That's if we have elections as we know them in '26. The voter suppression is going to be out of control, let alone don't be surprised if the National Guard will be patrolling heavy democratic areas to keep people away.

There will be elections. There will also be suppression. We have to accept that. But, in virtually every midterm election, the party in power loses seats. Add on top of that that Trump is EXTREMELY unpopular right now. It's an uphill battle with only so much gaming the system the GOP can do.

Also, baked into the Texas gerrymandering is the assumption that Latino districts who went for Trump in 24 will stay loyal. I think that's a huge mistake, and it will backfire.

The midterms are next year, the Dems could flip the house and the senate, giving them enough votes to halt Trump's agenda, and even impeach him. So, your pessimism is out of place.
