The insurance companies knew what was happening with climate change before the rest of us, I'd imagine. Right up there with Al Gore. I watched An Inconvenient Truth years ago, and it's all coming true, every last prediction.

The US oil industry, govt scientists, and the Reagan administration knew in the 1980s what climate change caused by burning fossil fuels would do. This is part one of a long, superb account of how govts and industry failed to act in time: share.google/WKKRqM8Yx6gh... By 1990, it was too late.

Worse than that, scientists at GM and Ford knew that carbon emissions were causing warming in the 1960s. I can't find evidence of this, but I remember reading maybe 10 yrs ago, maybe further back, that they suspected in the 19-teens that it would harm the atmosphere via the greenhouse effect.

And oil companies did the research in the 1950’s and 60’s and even Kennedy and every president since was aware.

Kicking the can down the road. We couldn't have children, but all the execs who are behind the wrecking of our environment, surely some of them do. Didn't they care what they were leaving their children? Grandchildren? Great-grandchildren? Damn.

You are correct. Insurance actuaries forecasted climate change models 20 years ago to prepare for financial losses associated with climate change.
