2 and 3 are pretty interchangeable, as they were both on the same level of quality IMO. No bad matches either, just some were better than others.

With the current regime, I have a lot more confidence in them than the old regime. Look at the WWF's agreement with AAA in the late 90s as an example of how this probably would've gone if Vince had his way.
