I can't help but think about how many Americans, like me, have more "non-white" blood in them. The terms "American"/"US born citizen" don't imply ethnicity anymore than one's appearance does.Again, using myself as an example, I look white, but genetically speaking, I am more Mexican, African & N.A.

I’m a melting pot of 6 different European nationalities. Our 20 year old daughter (adopted at birth) has blonde hair and blue eyes and has Native American heritage. You can’t always tell from first glance

I went to elementary school w/two brothers that were 100% indigenous Americans but they both had strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin & freckles. Their mom did, too. She was also 100% I.A..

Isn’t it interesting? My mother has 1 green eye and 1 brown eye. I have green eyes, sister blue and brother hazel eyes.
