Left wing Christians were VERY much a visible part of the gay rights movement. The ACA was a single bill in Congress, not a mass social movement (and universal healthcare really should have been an organized social movement)

As do I but definitely not the driver. Most mainline churches stayed far away. The Unitarians, left wing Lutherans, Friends, but everyone else was wicked late.
