Oh, have you missed this entire fiasco?! Long story short, scheduling a game for 3pm in August in Kansas City is not good when you have to be below a certain temp in order to be safe to play. They kept delaying for small bits and then once they had blown their CBS window, they pushed until 6:30pm. 🤦

I saw it was delayed initially but I left to drive to the Courage game and had just assumed it had started long ago.

Fair enough. It has been a whole thing with a lot of criticism being directed toward the NWSL for evening scheduling the game for this time of day/year at all. Here's a good thread from onsite. bsky.app/profile/thom...

People not from KC (by which I mean NWSL schedulers) don't understand how infernally hot it is there in the summer. They think it's not the south so it's fine, and it very much is not!!

Never have the words "wet bulb" been posted so many times on Bluesky in so little time.
