Yup! Lots of "see you next week, and we're going to bring our friends" as they left.
You might need a bigger drying table!
I imagine there are lots of caregivers and children grateful to be able to do a fun relaxing thing together that doesn’t cost lots of money, and creates the mess somewhere with a wipe clean floor! Sounds like great activity to run.
Yes! Painting for 25 children creates pretty much the same amount of clear-up as painting for 2 children, so it makes a lot of sense to do it as a communal activity. A good time had by all.
Yes, very much this! Also lots more space, which helps, too. I’d love to try something like this (we don’t have to a hard floor, but I’m sure we could think of something).
A decent-sized groundsheet is an excellent investment for messy activities in a carpeted church, in my experience.
Wow, that one kid was busy 😜 (glad it went well)
😂 There definitely were more paintings than kids! And some grown ups had a go too, which was lovely.
I was similarly worried about our music day last weekend but we had over 30 people. Hopefully 'Granny Caft Day'/ 'Diwrnod Crefftau Nain' this Saturday will be popular too!
Amused that my brain expects more crafts in Welsh than English due to my Nain being more crafty than my Granny!
I got 500 words of blurb about the summer holiday activities translated by Helo Blod and you get to tell them context, register, and north/south etc so I was able to specify definitely 'Nain'
Grins. I have a complex relationship with these words. My dad's mam is my Nain because although Cardiffian she worked for a Welsh speaking family who used Nain. But I've learnt more south Walian. Oddest was when Granny was ill in my second year & Gog friend asked "Sut mae dy Nain?" My response
Instinctively was "mae Nain yn feeing, mam-gu sy'n sâl "
Ffein silly phone
Just realised I mistyped 'craft'
I refrained from laughing at the typo
I’ve got a church doing a craft supply swap mid summer to great success!!
That sounds great!
