Bad teachers load up on homework that is pointless. Good teachers give homework that isn't. My worry is particularly with math because if kids aren't prepared in elementary with the basics it snowballs into a mess when they hit algebra and trigonometry.
I understand and I’m not worried here in Massachusetts, but anywhere else in this country, especially red states where most parents don’t posses the knowledge to read properly, understand basic math and science.
The main problem is that a lot of parents in rural areas either don't care or don't know what a good school is like because all they have been exposed to is a poor school. So this snowballs into the school staying bad, and those who go to college feel betrayed because they are behind their peers.
