The moment you allow a government to withhold human rights from one minority group, every other minority and soon everybody's human rights are unsafe. The ECHR is the only guarantee of your rights. Little wonder would-be authoritarians hate it.

Yep. If they spin it the correct way the public will be like "oh its not going to affect me, it's only being used to target (insert group here)". It is deeply worrying that the government are looking at this. Expect nothing more of them given how they are treating trans people and asylum seekers

It's worse in a way with Starmer being a former human rights lawyer. You'd think he would be shouting how the ECHR and HR legislation protects us. He has no morals and no conscience. Happy to destroy our rights simply to try and get reform voters to vote for him and appease the right wing media.
