explain. The company I worked for refused an applicant with 7 years of experience, a clean record, and always showed up. I know this because a good friend of mine was her previous employer and boss. I had to take on a brand new employee with no experience. How is that helpful?

At corporate level, do you really think senior management, HR departments and lawyers all sit around and come to an agreement to consciously discriminate against white people? They then promelgate that internally to all the hiring managers who then implement the discriminatory policy?

The thread (i.e.the context) is about DEI. 🤷‍♂️ On a completely unrelated note…

I assume you are making a reverse discrimination claim here. What proof do you have to support that?

They made me hire the person with no experience because we needed a black worker. She quit 2 weeks later because she didn't like the hours she had to work. That was explained during the interview. The person I wanted to hire was black with experience. Couldn't get her when the other one quit.

Sounds like both were black. How do you tie this back to a corporate DEI program?

because I told them I wanted the young lady with 7 years experience to be the hire and they said they need new people.

Doesn’t sound like that has anything to do with DEI. Do you often irrelevantly tie outcomes you don’t like to your own personal biases?

What biases did I show. Both women were black. One was qualified, one wasn't. I want qualified employees not someone that doesn't want to work, which is what the person they made me hire was. How is that productive.

Would need more details, of course, but if a policy discriminates against white people, then it isn’t DEI. …. DEI is to help people who would usually be overlooked for not being white. Hiring a buddy or a relative would be more discriminatory than DEI, and god knows that happens all the time.
