The ideation process is so much fun when you're all together in a room though. You can feel the energy.

Of course. There is no replacement! I am politically savvy so there are things ppl will only tell you in person. And that is how you build trust as well. And sometimes you need to go on coffee break with a colleague just for a change of scenery! I do focus better at home, though.
I am not politically savvy. Although, people will tell me their life stories the first time I meet them. It's pretty funny. I also tell people that I don't play politics so they know ahead of time that I won't be backstabbing or repeating what they say. I end up being a mediator all too often.
It’s a bit sad but I think funny. I was recently being bullied by someone they fired 5 months ago and didn’t know! My team knew but didn’t tell me until after she was fired. She just kept bad mouthing me but I was focused on delivering and she didn’t I still DK how I didn’t see it 😳
Been there. One was forced to leave, another was fired and the manager moved to a completely different group once HR found out. Sorry that happened to you. Some people get very jealous. I tell everyone that I would never be good if I didn't make a lot of mistakes and learn from them.
😂 that’s good. It means you are likeable. I am usually well liked and will not backstab ppl. I am ethical. But I also know that the way to sell my idea to this VP is to emphasize legal obligations but this other VP care more about being cutting edge, etc I am never fake.
Watch your back then. Keep your eyes and ears open. Those are the types that like to steal other people's ideas as their own too. The problem with that is they're not able to articulate the idea as well as the original owner. I've been victim to that before and completely embarrassed the person by
asking them questions only I knew the answer to. Our manager would see right through them when that happened and know who the true owner was. It's sad people do it. I would have gladly shared my ideas and worked as partners. It's all about being a team player.
In some ways it’s scary but I wouldn’t have done anything differently. I know why they fired her. They knew they couldn’t lose me But my next job I am going to be more careful and look for a supportive team environment. My team is great but my peers aren’t. Which again goes back to bad mgmt
Well, I wish you the best of luck on the next one. That should be exciting to build up again.
Funnily two of my team members are asking me to take them with me 😂 We’ll see
Might not be a bad idea if you can keep others from feeling like they have an advantage because you previously worked with them. There's always someone who feels disadvantaged or jealous of previous connections and thinks there might be favoritism. Emotions at work can be so annoying. LOL
I get it. I brought my right hand from a previous job. One person didn’t like it. But I was clear that I needed her because she could translate me for them. And she was a higher rank so I delegated a lot to her I was selfish. I really wanted someone I knew I could trust 😞
Of course. Team work makes the dream work I am fortunate. My team I know has my back. And they felt there was no point in telling me since I was blowing her out of the water. Her team was 3 times the size of mine And she fought for my projects. Gave them to her. They were given back to me.
