Is there an app (or way to do this on Google maps/waze/&c) that will show you your ETA to a destination, adjusting for live traffic preferably, but DOESNT show you the live route? I have having the route up bc it makes me not build a mental map of the area/zone out more; but I’d like the live ETA

Like then if suddenly my ETA increases a ton or it starts out much higher than what I would expect I can turn the route planner on and figure out where the problem is/alternate routes. I just hate having the route up and running giving me turn by turn
You can turn off the sound on Apple maps, so you do t hear the directions. I looked at a couple apps and can't find what you're looking for. They're all using a map with your location displayed even when viewing someone else's view of it.
My thought is to share location to another email address you have access to. It may show the map and ETA without the suggested route.
I tried share ETA on a route in Apple Maps. It didn't do what you want.
Yeah I never have the sound on for the directions but i usually have the big map pulled up. I think I just get annoyed with the app thinking I need directions when all I want is to see the ETA lmamaoalamaoaoo
I guess the answer is “plug your destination in, check the eta, then navigate away from that screen on your dash” but. Ugh
