I pray she doesn’t grow up in a society that pressures her to have babies before she and her body are mature enough to make that decision for herself. It really does feel like The Handmaids Tale at times. God bless her and you for being such an astute Grandma who can help guide her choice. 🩷
My daughter and I teach her to be body-positive and not worry about adult issues. Sadly, some 5-year-olds already worry about being “fat.” We focus on good nutrition—she often asks, “Nonna, is this healthy?” It’s a lot of work, but we’re fortunate not to face poverty and access to nutritious food.
