I was really getting in my head earlier today about early-40s-type stuff (like...am I doing enough with my life, what's my legacy going to be, who's going to give a shit about me when I'm 60). And "Friends Is The Goal" is legitimately a tonic to those thoughts.
nobody’s really going to remember me, and i’m so much happier having accepted that. i wanna leave plenty of friends behind when i go, and hopefully someone who cares enough to take care of my stuffed pandas, but when i’m dead it’s not like i’ll know or care 😌
I think I'm including in the idea of legacy stuff like "my cousins and nieces and godkids have positive memories of interacting with me". I don't know that I care much about being remembered in an abstract way, but I want to have positively impacted the lives of people I know.
i like that, and i think i have similar goals. if we’re not going to try to make each others’ lives better while we’re here, what’s even the point?
