2/3 There may be follow-up questions, maybe extra docs requested (police record, education and work record for example) which may also involve translation or notary services etc... I brought my wife to Canada in 2017 and she received her passport earlier
3/3 this year. It was complicated, expensive and at time frustrating. When filling out a form in the gvnt portal you can't use Chrome browser, only Microsoft Edge. No one tells you that so much frustration. It seems to change from year to year so I can't speak about today.
