Talked to my contractor today, who I had locked in for jobs already and he said he has already lost his entire spring's bookings because people are cancelling renovation projects.

I can't imagine what the final cost will be to repair the hurricane damage to our condo (if we ever get permits, that is). Insurance payouts were determined within weeks of the storms, so won't be anywhere close to covering the total.

I would be cancelling myself but my contractor had already bought all the materials a few months ago. There are new jobs that I will have to put off now.

A plumber friend of mine 3 years ago said he'd stopped bidding on new projects because he was flooded with work coming in unsolicited. Customers are cancelling now.
