Both of these are basically untrue. There's nothing "academic" about any of those terms, they're easily understood and the only people who whine about them are rich fascists who mostly have more "academic" backgrounds than the people who use them.

like, they are academic terms in the sense that they were formed inside academia, but they're also useful words for concepts and thus are also used more generally.
