It's not "budging over small things", it's that they're fascists and they care what other fascists think but not the majority of people

Corporatists are even worse than fascists I'd argue. A fascist is a dick to everyone but his in group, but that group always includes their middle class. A corporatist is a dick to everyone but his in group, but that in group never includes anyone who isn't super rich.
