Yup. Texas will be done with it months before California tries, giving the Supreme Court just enough time to decide, no actually that is unconstitutional and not allowed starting at that precise moment. 😮💨 The only option is same time: both or neither.
Problem is that some Dem led states, like California, have actual laws in place that say we can’t simply gerrymander at will like the commie led states can. Cali Dems need to—and will—figure out how to legally work around it.
This means passing legislation, quickly, to bypass or suspend those state Constitutional requirements. I sense progressives will fight against any such moves as those nomination & election measures are how they carry weight beyond their support.
That, apparently, is in the works. Newsome has brought it up several times and he’s serious about it. Once Dems have the White House and Congress back, we can pass a nationwide non-partisan redistricting law like what’s currently law in California & Colorado.

My point was it takes longer in blue states to redistrict. Some statutes require a ballot initiative Some require an amendment to their constitution Blue states actually believe in law, unlike Florida

The furthest left the Democratic Party goes is Mandani who is center left. The leadership like Schumer, Jeffries, Pelosi and Booker are all firmly right wing conservatives.
Mamdani is a democratic socialist. He’s moving what should be the Democratic Party platform in the right direction but it’s still not enough when we’re at war with fascists.
