www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6q1xf5J/ The Blue restraint is EXACTLY what enables red state outrages. Blue states need to be announcing redistricting RIGHT THE FUCK NOW! TX did it. That’s all it should have taken to move. I will never understand why Dems need so much time to deliberate and hem and haw.

All you need to is a single Elon Musk tweet to know that speed kills. We should be checking the actual facts before weighing in on a criminal charge, checking the legal standards before weighing in on an issue of international law, and checking with constituents before making major policy changes.

If we are to have ANY hope to save democracy, Dems will need to learn that SPEED IS CRITICAL in battle. MOVING decisively and QUICKLY is essential. Their failure to comprehend that is why Garland was tolerated until the clock ran out.

3/3 We can fight the battle of rescinding Blue State gerrymandering another day. But if we don't use ever tool available to us now, we will not have a tool box from which to work.

2/3 But at the states' level, as distasteful as it may be, we have some options. If we are not willing to fight fire with fire, we will not get another chance after 2026. We need to take this opportunity to put up a barrier in hopes of stopping the madness.

1/3 I understand that we have fought hard to stop gerrymandering. But we are looking at a very specific circumstance at a very specific time. We have limited (if any options) at the federal level to resolve what is happening.

It doesn't help that there are large (liberal) organizations that are loudly voicing opposition to mid-cycle redistricting for California’s Congressional seats. The League of Women Voters is a huge platform to which many ascribe. And they are clear about their stance. www.lwv.org/newsroom/pre...

Dems are so afraid of the optics making them look bad. They worry about losing donors. They seem to not understand that if we do not fight fire with fire in this particular instance, we are done. We can rescind gerrymandering in 2027. But if we don't do something now, there will be no 2027.

I agree that it can be frustrating, but I like that Democrats hem and haw and make sure everyone is along with what is happening. We don't need two parties that just do whatever they want to stay in power.
