The reality is that the Dems are so dependent on big donors, it cannot function without their money. And the delta between what the donors want and what the base wants is so big, it’s basically untenable. That’s where we are.

Because of citizens united, both sides are dependent on big money when they are in a national campaign. A local campaign, like AOC runs, is easier to do with grass roots money. Get rid of CU and it would be a campaign based on policy.

They lost me with the first sentence. Anybody who thinks Third Way is "center-left" has issues. A more accurate phrase for Third Way, and Dems in general, would be "reactionary-center" or "center-right."
