I don't agree with Polanski on that but A we need to move capitalism away from being armaments based & B even the Nazis respected neutral countries, (don't know the history to know why) so maybe a new way forward is possible (& before u say Putin, we cd shut him down now by not buying his oil & gas)

The Nazis did not respect neutral countries. They invaded and occupied Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Just read some history. And introducing “The allies invaded an equal …” is whataboutery. You started by saying something that was untrue about Hitler. When corrected you switched to the allies: also untrue.

OK, Switzerland is surrounded by mountains making it difficult to attack and easy to defend, Portugal and Ireland are fucking miles away and they would have had to go through other countries to get there, who knows why they left some countries alone, they clearly didn't try to invade every last one.

They invaded the ones they needed and left the ones they didn’t. Neutrality isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Neatly summed up by @vizcomic.bsky.social decades ago.

Thank heavens you said that about Nazi aggression. I couldn’t believe my eyes, when I read it. Even Switzerland had pro Nazi groups pressing to join the Reich, and a government that returned escaping Jews. It was just a matter of time.
