And this is in a red state. Just imagine how it’ll look in a blue state. They will be celebrating the deaths most likely.

Blue states have resources to try protecting their own people at least. Imagine this happening to a city with mostly black or Latino ppl in a red state. Imagine another Hurricane Katrina. Blue cities don’t have as many resources. Predominantly black/latino rural areas even less.
They have resources because they are not terrified of taxes and they allocate funds to infrastructure. I've lived in red and blue states. You get what you pay for.
It’s not just about personal feelings on taxes. Red states mismanage everything and its people are more impoverished. They weaponize their resources to commit classist and racist violence. Saying the people who will suffer aren’t “getting what they paid for“ reads as callous fyi.
Really? People in states that fight tooth and nail against taxes are making a choice. It's often accompanied by racist, retrograde policies, tirades against libraries and and anti diversity initiatives in general. I agree that people weaponize systems. It's a choice.
The government weaponizes systems, is what I’m saying. I don’t understand the point of your comments other than trying to blame future victims of natural disasters for the malicious failures of their government. As someone trapped in a red state, I’m tired of that.
The Republicans will do what they accuse Democrats of doing, all while telling us how Christian and patriotic they are.
Luckily, most Blue states have solid infrastructure and don't resist data and its application to real situations. I've lived in both kinds of states and been to so many parts of the US that it is easier to say where I've not been; my comment comes from lived experience.
