Washington is a great gig. Multiple coaches have won big, you can do some recruiting, great location, and the fans aren’t too crazy. Leaving that for Alabama was certifiable

A slightly more erratic version, but I blame that on a coach whose system--and aesthetic and probably ideological tastes--ran far more towards wanting John Hadl or Bart Starr as his QB than Castellanos.

Having a coach who acts and coaches like they'd be best suited to coach at, like Mizzou in 1950 (where, to be sure, he'd have set college football on fire with his offense lol) will never bring out the best in most talented QBs nowadays.
