Absolutely incredible, she just stood there and her voice was beautiful and powerful. Reminded me of watching Adele in concert. They just have beautiful voices.

I once heard one of the writers of that song do it solo with an acoustic guitar and it was lovely and quirky. I think the video did it some irrecoverable harm.

I was at that shoot. Song was refreshingly different to some of the naval gazing sludge. Some good lyrics and talented artists. Video gave an over the top, hammy glimpse into suburban mundanity. An easy target for parody, which smarted deeply for some of the creatives.

They were definitely ahead of their time. And how fun for you to be at that shoot!!!

Can concede that moment of the song is genius. But stand by my assessment. I will go and see them soon when they play my home town.

At the Prince of Wales Hotel in St Kilda, as you climbed the stairs, there was a mural of Andy Capp standing at a bar, farting the word FRENTE. I think a Fred Negro creation. I think many of us have a complex relationship with Frente, but have a big soft spot for them.
