I discovered I prefer slightly more machine-looking robots to the ones looking like iron people wearing armour. My favourite mecha designs are from Patlabor and Gurren Lagann.

Well, I *do* watch mecha anime sometimes, not least because a very good friend of mine really likes them. And I've been known to watch the odd kaiju movie, too.

:3 Well, of course, one can never go wrong with the film that started the genre, the first one. :b After that, I am not overly picky. It just depends on if you prefer Gojira's increasing fondness for humans or prefer he remain a hostile force who reminds them of their hubris.

The last one I watched was Godzilla Minus One, a return to menacing Godzilla who decidedly isn't a friend to humans - definitely deserving of its praise.
