It's almost a guarantee that their contracts stipulate time and a half or double time and that they're able to use years with wages inflated by overtime to calculate the average salary that their pensions are based on. The police aren't unwilling participants in this shit.
Why are you acting like cops dislike overtime? They regularly brag about how much they make due to overtime.
To some extent yes, but not past a certain point and especially if they have to make constant arrests, even the most corrupt of cops aren't going to be overly thrilled if they end up with basically no breaks.
