This is a good start, acting on cohesive, threatening and/or violent behaviour like this is important. Combine these orders with some focus on effective behaviour modification/reprogramming (enforced where necessary) and it could help control behaviours which have often and are long time ignored.
I'm sure you'll already know of the violence reduction unit in the West of Scotland, co-founded by Karyn McCluskey, now head of Community Justice Scotland. It's not the precisely in DV but more attempting more broadly to tackle violent behaviour (predominantly by men).

DVPOs have been about for some years now but can last for no more than 28 days and if breached offender gets a fine or max 2 month custodial (of which they'll serve half). They are a frustrating "last resort" option for police unable to charge in large part cos the victim is too scared to support 😞

Will be researching the difference between this and DVPO. We regularly process breaches. Even when perps receive the full 28 days they're straight back to the victim. Reviews of DG6 needed to allow police to charge DV offences. Victim support more easily secured if investigations not delayed by CPS
DVPO only for 28 days DAPO are unlimited, also DAPO can be for coercive control and have positive requirements like perp programmes and tags.
A handful of them programmes are bullshit as well if you’re talking about ones such as CARA courses. They don’t work when the police forced allow the perpetrators to move back into the home. My father was made to do one and it was all for nothing. There is so much work to be done and gaps to plug
